About RJ

I’ve spent most of my life somewhere between technology, creativity, entrepreneurship, and making things.

My relationship with technology goes all the way back to the Disk Operating System (DOS) days, when using a computer still meant knowing a few commands. I began teaching computers, working with and teaching software like WordStar, Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect, Excel, and eventually Microsoft Windows.

As the technology evolved, so did I.

I moved into software such as Flash, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, RoboHelp and other tools that were changing the way people created, published, communicated, and learned.

Eventually, teaching software led to working inside the software industry itself. I held product management and other technology roles with several software companies, and later became a Worldwide Product Evangelist for Adobe Systems, traveling, speaking, demonstrating technology, and thinking deeply about how people actually use software.

Then I stepped away from technology.

In 2011, I started Jacquez Art.

What began as a completely different chapter of my life became a fifteen-year education in craftsmanship, design, selling, customer behavior, entrepreneurship, and the thousands of tiny lessons you can only learn by actually doing the work.

For the past 15 years, I’ve been creating one-of-one custom framed sports jersey displays by hand—talking with customers, solving problems, experimenting, designing, building, and learning an entirely different kind of craft.

And then AI arrived.

Suddenly, two chapters of my life that once seemed completely unrelated—technology and craftsmanship—started connecting.

Today I’m building again.

That includes Jacquez Art, the Jacquez Art Studio, an interactive design experience built from years of framing knowledge; PromptTOC, a Chrome extension born from a small frustration I kept encountering while working with AI; and SaveReel.co, an experiment in turning the things we save online into something we can actually think with and learn from.

But this site isn’t really about products.

It’s where I’m thinking out loud about AI, technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, craftsmanship, experience, taste, faith, and the strange way life connects the dots when you look backward.

I’ve been fortunate enough to live through several technology revolutions.

This one feels different.

And at 55, I’m as curious about what comes next as I’ve ever been.
